A veteran of the first Trump administration who led an industry group focused on carbon capture and utilization is taking on a new role as a senior policy adviser to Energy Secretary Chris Wright.

Steven Winberg, who worked at DOE during President Donald Trump’s first term, left his position as acting undersecretary for infrastructure Monday, a role he filled in an acting capacity for the first 90 days of the new administration.

A DOE spokesperson said in a statement that Michael Goff, who is serving in the agency’s Office of Nuclear Energy, will step into the infrastructure role in an acting capacity.
