They say they’ll fight the Trump administration’s “unfair and unlawful attacks on the civil service.”

Former Justice Department civil servants have launched a new firm they say will combat the Trump administration’s “efforts to dismantle the government.”

Clayton Bailey and Jessica Merry Samuels, both of whom left posts as Justice Department attorneys this year, on Tuesday announced the launch of the Washington-based Civil Service Law Center.

The firm’s stated mission is to “litigate on behalf of federal workers and members of the public who have been harmed by the Administration’s unfair and unlawful attacks on the civil service.” Bloomberg Law reported the firm’s launch earlier Tuesday.

The move comes as the Trump administration continues its push to downsize the federal workforce and as many of those efforts have faced legal challenges.
