Republican Rep. Buddy Carter entered Georgia’s Senate race, presenting himself as a “MAGA Warrior” loyal to President Donald Trump and his agenda.

Carter is the first Republican to declare his candidacy to take on Democratic incumbent Sen. Jon Ossoff in next year’s election. His announcement came after former Gov. Brian Kemp (R) decided this week against running.

While Carter has a mainly conservative record, he is supportive of some green energy incentives and is a co-chair of the Conservative Climate Caucus.
