A federal judge agreed to postpone a deadline for the Trump administration to hand over its plans to downsize federal agencies as the administration fights to keep its strategies under wraps.

U.S. District Judge Susan Illston on Monday agreed to postpone a deadline she had set last week when she ordered the Trump administration by Tuesday to produce its layoff and restructuring plans for agencies across the federal government.

Illston, a Clinton-appointed judge on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, issued a sweeping order Friday that temporarily paused administration’s layoff plans at environmental agencies and other departments.
